Moom products were created by a woman called Jinous Nouri. She was a chemist who was looking for an alternative hair removal solution to the chemical products and systems that were available at the time. She had two daughters and wanted something that was suitable for young and sensitive skin and something that would remove hair but at the same time leave the skin feeling smooth and cared for.

After lengthy research and development work Moom products were presented to the market. These are all hypoallergenic, environmentally friendly kits and they do not contain any perfumes, chemicals or other artificial substances.

What is it?

Moom is an organic hair removal system. It contains all natural products and is designed not only to remove unwanted hair, but to leave the skin feeling softer and smoother by removing dead skin cells and other impurities as part of the complete process.

The base ingredients that are found in the Moom products include water, organic chamomile, organic sugar, organic lemon juice, organic Tea Tree oil and other organic essential oils. The combination of all these ingredients creates a 100% organic and hypo-allergic product that can be used by both men and women.

What you will receive

Your starter kit will contain:

One 6.oz (170 gram) jar of 100% natural hair remover.

18 washable, reusable Fabric Strips

8 wooden applicators

How it works

If you have ever used wax treatments before then you may be familiar with the process of using this hair removal method.

  1. Warm the mixture so that it reaches a consistency that is similar to honey. This can be done in a microwave or a stove top.I prefer to use an electric wax warmer that will maintain a consistent temperature and decrease the chance of burns. Click here to see a review of the warmer that I like use.
  2. Take one of the wooden applicators and apply a paper thin layer of Moom to the skin. When doing this make sure that it is applied following the direction of hair growth. So if, for example, you are preparing the legs then you will want to smooth the solution downwards.
  3. Place one of the washable fabric strips on top of the solution, making sure to leave the end free so that you can hold it between your fingers and thumb. After pressing down on the fabric thoroughly to ensure a good connection, simply pull the end of the fabric upwards and off the skin.

Pros

  • This product is USDA certified organic. It contains all natural products with no chemicals or dyes.
  • It can be used on fine or coarse hair.
  • The fabric strips are washable and reusable.
  • It can be used safely on all areas of the body including legs, arms, underarms, bikini and even areas of the face.
  • The manufacturer does not use animal testing
  • The results can last up to 8 weeks.

    Cons

  • Hair will need to be at least 1/4 inch long for this method to be effective.
  • The mixture is very sticky and messy.
  • It can take some experimentation to determine the most effective temperature for use.
  • It did remove the hair and get the job done but not as efficiently as hot wax. It took more applications to remove all of it

    Would I recommend this product?

I would recommend tis product if you would like the results of waxing but have sensitive skin or allergies. I f you only want to use organic skin care products this will be a good choice for you.

It’s nice to see an organic product here using essential oils. Can you recommend a hair removal treatment that is permanent?
Also, do you know of any that do not require the hair to grow out first? Who wants to wait for that anyway? 🙂
I’ve seen some at home devices but was skeptical of the efficiency so I’d be interested in hearing about professional services that may be available, too
    Thanks!

      Hi Karyn,

Electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal. I do recommend that you have it done professionally. Laser hair removal is the longest lasting hair removal method that does not require growing the hair out in between. If you can afford it you can have it done professionally or there are some FDA approved home handheld laser devices that are easy to use. I have some other articles regarding both of these issues you might want to read. Nice review you have here about Moom Organic. I have seen it on Amazon – really like the packaging. It’s interesting to read about how the product came about as well. What’s the texture like? From reading the ingredients list, it seems like it will be gooey like honey – will it drip all over the place when I apply it on my skin?

    1. admin says:

      Hi Lily.

The product is a thick texture similar to honey. It actually adheres to the skin does well at staying in place. I have found that it is easier to apply and clean up than wax. I have always heated it, but some users on Amazon have reported that they successfully used it cold straight out of the container.

Thank you so much for this review! I have looked into natural and organic hair removal solutions and the options were just overwhelming. I really appreciate your honest review as it helps me narrow down the choices. Since this one is beneficial for sensitive skin, would you say the pain level is any different than when using hot wax?

      Hi Susie,

Users of the Moom Organic hair removal system do say that it is less painful than waxing. If you have sensitive skin I think that you will like it.

As someone with high pilosity, I always like to find alternative options to remove body hair. I had never heard of the Moom Organic hair removal kit before, but I’m glad I did today. I like that you gave a list of pros and cons too, and I’m going to look at it more closely before I decide to purchase.

One of the cons that bother me with this product, and with wax, in general, is that the hair has to be a certain length before being pullable. It’s ok for my legs and bikini area, but for facial hair, nobody wants to wait until the hair is visible to be able to wax it. Hence do you know any other good options to remove facial hair in a timely, safe manner?

Thank you for your reply 🙂

    1. admin says:

      Hi Didi,

One of the best ways to remove facial hair without waiting for it to grow out is to use an epilator. You can read more about that here Do epilators work ? How do I correctly use one? and here Tips For Using an Epilator. A hair removal cream also known as a depilatory is another option you might want to consider.
